The Sacrament of Confirmation completes the grace and promise of Baptism, while also integrating the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit. This sacramental rite marks the fullness of our Christian initiation and encourages those to go out into our communities to share the goodness of the Gospel and to spread the joy of Christ to whomever one encounters.
Students prepare for Confirmation during their freshman and sophomore year in high school by taking religion class at St John School of Religion. This occurs during the normal school day. They receive the Rite of Presentation during their sophomore year and the Rite of Covenant during their junior year. They then receive the sacrament of Confirmation in their junior year.
Adults choosing to become confirmed in the Catholic Church will participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). For more information on how to be part of this process and becoming unified within our faith community, contact Brian McGee at the Pastoral Office.
